SERVICES OFFERED AT INTEGRATIVE ACUPUNCTURE
ACUPUNCTURE AND HERBS
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a healing system developed in China more than 2.000 years ago with a focus on achieving health and well-being through the cultivation of harmony. In contrast, Western medicine primarily focuses on treating illnesses and diseases. TCM practitioners use acupuncture, herbs, tuina (Chinese medical body massage), qi gong, tai chi and other methods to treat a wide range of conditions. Acupuncture and herbs restore the body's balance, eliminating the associated symptoms and strengthen the body to cure the problems.

WHAT TO EXPECT ON YOUR FIRST VISIT
Your first appointment at Integrative Acupuncture, also known as your initial intake, may be as long as 90 minutes. During the intake, the practitioner will spend time assessing your personal medical history through interview and examination. Medical history interview includes questions about your lifestyle, diet and nutrition, sleep patterns, emotional conditions, bowel habits and medical history. A physical examination may include an examination of your tongue and checking of your pulses to determine energy flow. After the initial interview, you will be asked to lie down on a table where the practitioner will again measure your energy flow through checking your pulse and begin the treatment. During the treatment, the practitioner will insert very thin, sterile, disposable needles throughout your body based on your specific condition. The needles will be left in for 30 -35 minutes. Most people find the treatment very relaxing and meditate or sleep. At the end of your rest, the needles will be removed. Your practitioner will then meet with you again, provide feedback, answer any questions you may have and determine a personalized treatment plan to suit your needs. All you need to do is enjoy the treatment.
